Minister of Interior Mr. Flamur Noka, received in a working visit the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Mr. Nils Muiznieks. Making a detailed description regarding the recommendations made in the report of last year, the Minister of Interior, Mr. Flamur Noka underlined, inter alia, that all measures have been taken for the treatment with dignity, respect the rights of persons arrested or detained.

“In order to meet the standards for the implementation, it was designed ‘Manual of rules for handling detainees and arrested persons in police units’, which was consulted with NGO, whose mission is to protect human rights freedoms, ICITAP program PAMECA III, but also other stakeholders”, said Minister Noka, adding that this manual is in full implementation

On his side, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe Mr. Nils Muiznieks praised the work done by the State Police to meet the recommendations from the previous year, and that the steps undertaken by the Republic of Albania to guarantee human rights in this area, bring the law enforcement structures closer to the homologous structures in Europe.
